Stories shared by John

The story about John and Marsha isn’t really about ancestry, engineering, homemaking, or even the years they lived. Those are chapters. This story is about two people who quietly chose principle over pressure.

That phrase, breaking the mold, could easily be misunderstood today as rebellion or rejecting tradition. But that’s not what John and Marsha were about.

They broke the mold because they had the courage to do what they believed was right.

  • They crossed cultural expectations to marry the person they loved.
  • They built a stable middle-class life through discipline rather than chasing status.
  • They raised four children to become independent thinkers instead of carbon copies.
  • They demonstrated that integrity isn’t something you preach—it’s something you practice every ordinary day.\

Through these videos you will learn more about my parents who I loved deeply throughout their lives and when I see them in photos and hear my father’s stories, I cherish their memory and I treasure the knowing that “I and my brothers were the lucky ones”.
